Believe it or not, the history of Topps football cards stretches back to a time before The Real One had even entered the baseball card market. In fact, Bowman, Leaf, and Topps all issued their first football cards in 1948, setting the stage for (so far) more than 70 years of on-again, off-again showdowns between the three brands in the hobby.

Of course, Bowman and Leaf have gone through a few permutations over the decades, while Topps has had its own dramas (not the least of which is their recent acquisition by Fanatics!).

Through it all, though, collectors could always count on the new batch of Topps gridiron cards each fall.

Here, then, is our complete list of articles dedicated to Topps fooball cards, which we update on a frequent basis … check back soon!
