When he took the golf world by storm — the entire sports world, in fact — back in 1996 and 1997, the young phenom created instant demand for a Tiger Woods rookie card.

Only problem was … the thing didn’t really exist.

Back then, golf was still pretty much an afterthought when it came to big-time sporting events and especially among collectors.
