After two years regaling collectors with 75-piece issues, 1972 Kellogg’s 3D baseball cards weighed in with a relatively diminutive 54-card checklist. Interestingly enough, there were 21 error cards in the first run of this set, and they were all corrected, bringing the total card count in a “master” set to … yes! … 75 cards.

Kellogg’s also reduced the size of their 3D card in 1972, though, to 2-1/8” by 3-1/4″.

Issued one per “specially marked boxes” of Kellogg’s cereal, these cards were also available in complete set form via send-in offer.

Today, though all Kellogg’s cards tend to suffer from cracking, curling, and other condition issues, PSA 9 is the most common grade handed out by the grading giant.

1972 kelloggs 3d baseball cards

The most valuable cards in that condition today, based on recent selling prices, are as follows:

  • Roberto Clemente (#49) – $100
  • Willie Mays error (#54) – $80
  • Tom Seaver error (#1) – $60
  • Willie Mays corrected (#54) – $60
  • Pete Rose (#6) – $50
  • Willie Stargell error (#53) – $40
  • Tom Seaver corrected (#1) – $35
  • Reggie Jackson (#20) – $35
  • Billy Williams error (#46) – $25
  • Willie McCovey corrected (#7) – $20
  • Bob Gibson error (#26) – $20

Commons command about $15 in PSA 9 condition.

Expect to pay a few dollars to a healthy double digits for stars in nice ungraded condition.
