Sandberg was so prominent in ’84 it’s not hard to see why you thought that. His cards were scorching most of the summer.

The 1984 Johnnie Ray is particularly odd to me. Ryne Sandberg was not only the starting 2nd baseman in the 1984 all-star game he was the MVP of the National League that year. Very weird decision to not put Sandberg on that card.
