<p>Yep, TONS of late 80s stuff out there. And I don&#8217;t think &#8217;84 Donruss is rare by any means but still *seems* more scarce than its contemporaries, as you point out.</p>

The common belief has been that 1984 Donruss is rare. That belief helped 1984 Donruss stand out as a more valuable and more desirable set than any other base set in the 1980s. My opinion based on observation is that 1984 Donruss in relative comparison is still much less prevalent compared to any of the other 1980s base cards from any of the major manufacturers in the 1980s - Topps, Fleer, Donruss, Score and UD. Perhaps the equivalent of 150,000-250,000 sets produced. In comparison, late 1980s sets like 1988 Donruss or 1989 Topps likely have 150,000,000-205,000,000 sets produced if you collate all of the known singles out there. There should be a set for every man, woman and child in America.]]></description>
