Wilker really hits home for me in terms of correlating specific cards with what's going on in other parts of life. Seeing a particular card brings me back to moments in my life -- good or bad -- in an instant. But, like you said, taste in literature is individual.

I own or have read part or all of most of these books. Generally, I would agree with the value of most of these books as far as helping the reader gain a better understanding of the hobby including its incredible history. That said, the Josh Wilker book was a huge disappointment. I didn't like it at all. There was nothing in that book that made me want to meaningfully engage with the author even though I tried hard to follow along with it. But to each his own. The Jamieson and Erbe books are fantastic as is the Topps book with pictures of all sets through 1985.

Thank you, I have to let you know that your website is very much appreciated. Especially “12 Books Every Collector Should Read” I’ve enjoyed reading some of the articles n when time permits I’m definitely gonna enjoy reading more. I have a lot of Baseball Cards n I mean A LOT someone threw them out on the street n I just had to pick them up n take them home, I don’t really know anything about Baseball but I’ve got a soft spot for items that people don’t care to have anymore. Eventually I will have them sorted out n I’m hoping there’s some good ones I can either put into a proper binder or put them up in a really nice Picture Frame to enjoy looking at Again Thank you for your website it’s interesting n I finally feel like I’m gonna totally enjoy learning everything about Baseball History n Baseball Cards Collectables n more.......
I’ll DEFINITELY BE a REGULAR HERE!
