A lot of the younger crowd was excited about Mitchell. Just 4 years earlier I spent the summer between Jr high and high school searching all the local card shops and card shows trying to corner the Kevin Mitchell RC market. So it was fun seeing him in a Reds uniform. Took my little cousin down the next year for a game, we went down by the field to get autographs and though he didn’t get Mitchell’s auto I did see Mitchell signing others and being a pretty cool dude, pretending every person that brought up that catch was the first person to mention it since it happened.
