It&#039;s an &quot;error&quot; in the sense that it does not list his correct birthday, but there were several cards that listed that date. Most likely, it was a report discrepancy (or a deliberate misstatement to make him seem like a better prospect). As such, it was never corrected because there wasn&#039;t really anything to correct.

The Uribe &quot;error&quot; that&#039;s caused so much ruckus over the last couple of years is the 1990 Fleer -- same situation, and there is nothing special about that card. Common as dirt.

The eBay scam sort of stuck, unfortunately, and some folks are still paying a premium for a card that&#039;s just a common.]]></description>

Hmmm ... where does Thomas&#039;s name appear? Is it a Thomas back on a Ripken front, or some other configuration? If it&#039;s the former, it&#039;s a wrong back and might have a small premium over a regular Ripken for collectors of one or both of the players. Nothing huge, though, as it&#039;s really just a printing mistake.

If it&#039;s something else, it would be interesting to see what&#039;s up.]]></description>
